Airflow makes or breaks how your Sprinter feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid sliding door panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This sliding window replaces the fixed glass in the passenger side sliding door of your Sprinter. Instead of a sealed panel in the main entry door, the front-opening glass section slides forward to create a vent along the center of the van. When you're parked, cooking inside, or sleeping overnight, that opening lets air move through the sliding door instead of leaving it closed off.
When the glass is slid open, the integrated mesh screen stays in place to block insects from entering through the door opening. The spring-loaded latch holds the panel where you set it so the glass remains positioned while you're driving or parked.
The sliding door is one of the largest glass sections on the Sprinter and sits at eye level from outside. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also reduces UV exposure through that door glass.
Cutting into the sliding door panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the window is set into place, that urethane bonds the frame to the door and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the interior cavity. This bond holds the window in place and creates the weather barrier so you can vent that section without opening the panel.
